How To Tow A Vehicle – Recovery Options

It happens all the time, cars going through the highways and byways get stuck. The motor starts sputtering, they run out of petrol, and have to go to the side of the road. If you are experiencing a break down, you’ll need to pull over, and ensure that you’re easing into a solution. There are several things that you can do in order to recover your vehicle, but one thing is for sure, you cannot just leave it on the side of the road. It’s best not to do so, or you could face fines, and put yourself in danger. To get a helping hand, consider a few tips that could very well help you get moving forward after a break down.

Towing Cars With A Hitch

You can tow a car with a hitch, if you know someone that has one of these. Hitches are usually put on all-terrain vehicles, trucks, and 4-wheel drive solutions. You may find that it’s rare to see people driving with these in London, but there are a select few that have them. You’ll need to have a friend that does in fact have one of these. If they do, then you can chain your to the other one and then pull it along the road to a garage. This only works if the hitch can have a high capacity of weight, as it will literally be pulling the broken down vehicle. If it can, then you’ll want to put the second car in neutral, and tug it along to a garage. Go slow, and be safe in this option.

Calling Roadside Assistance

The next thing that you should consider is a simple option, and it’s calling mobile mechanics. You should have a roadside assistance phone number with you at all times. This is an emergency number that you can call to get a tow truck to your location. Tow trucks tow vehicles by putting chains on the axel or putting the car on a flatbed truck. Once it’s locked in properly, it’s literally drug behind or on the truck to a garage for fixing. It’s that simple.

These are the two major ways that you can get recovery in England. It’s difficult to manage this alone, as you’re no doubt going to need to call for help if your car breaks down or your tyres go out. Don’t try to push your car, or try to move forward on your own, as that could be dangerous.
